Description

 

The course manager facility enables an analysis of multiple projects and a general summary of results to be generated in the form of a .csv file.  Each project file is examined and marks sorted based on similar ID found in each project file. 

 

To activate this command:

 

  1. Open the Tools menu.

 

  1. Select Course Manager.

 

 

  1. Add a project file applicable for the duration of a whole course of study by clicking on the + (Plus) button.

 

  1. Select the file project file to add and click the Open button.

 

  1. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all applicable files are added to the Course Manager Project List.

 

  1. Click the Create Results Summary button in order to choose the location of the resulting summary file, enter the name of the summary file.

 

  1. Click the Save button. A progress bar will steadily increase while Marker's Assistant is calculating the summary information.

 

Output

 

Two types of output are available either with or without the percent of total mark calculation. The total mark calculation shows what percent of the total available marks the student earned for each assignment.

Furthermore the output of this command results in a comma separate file. where each row contains following information:

 

ID, Email,Assignment 1 (out of 59),percent mark (0.0),Assignment 2 (out of 20),...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

An example of possible output would be:

ID, Email,Assignment 1 (out of 59),percent mark (0.00),Assignment 2 (out of 20),percent mark (0.00)

1001,stud1@uni.edu,22,37.28,19,95.00

1002,stud2@uni.edu,45,76.27,17,85.00 

 

These results could be read that student number 1001, with the email address stud1@uni.edu, received 22 of 59 marks for a total of 37.28% for assignment 1, while for assignment he received 19 of 20 marks for a total percentage of 95.00%. For student number 1002, with the email address stud2@uni.edu, received 45 of 59 marks for a total of 76.27% for assignment 1, while for assignment he received 17 of 20 marks for a total percentage of 85.00%.

 

Options

 

By removing the check mark next to Calculate % Mark, the percentages are not included in the output leaving only the total amount of marks for each project.

 

In order to remove a project from the Course Manager Project List:

  1. Highlight the project file to remove from the list.
  2. Click the - (minus) button.
